September 27 marks the second annual #WorldDenseBreastDay. Organizers said they are building off the inaugural year's success to further educate women on the risk posed by breast density in developing breast cancer.
Cofounders of the host site DenseBreast-info.org spoke with AuntMinnie.com to talk about the day-long social media marathon, as well as recent events that have brought more attention to breast density. This includes a new rule implemented by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requiring breast imaging facilities to disclose such information to women.
