World Dense Breast Day Stats and Mammography Screening Tools Update

October 17, 2026 by Dense Breast Info

World Dense Breast Day Reaches 65.6 Million People

When we established World Dense Breast Day in 2021, our goal was to create a dedicated day to educate about dense breasts, implications for breast cancer screening and risk, and to provide a focal point for raising awareness globally.

With a groundswell of global involvement engaging more actively with the topic. #WorldDenseBreastDay celebrated its fifth anniversary on September 30 with extraordinary results:

  • 65.6M Reach: the total number of unique viewers of content carrying the campaign hashtag, up 22% from last year
  • 1.6M Interactions: the total number of comments, shares, likes, saves, and clicks on content with the campaign hashtag, up 2000% from last year

Thank you to every organization, clinician, advocate, and patient who posted, shared, and amplified this message around the world.
