DB-i Medical Advisory Board member Dr. Paula Gordon authored a new editorial in the Canadian Association of Radiologists Journal, Breast Density and Risk of Interval Cancers. She describes the “natural experiment” created by the patchwork of breast cancer screening policies across Canadian provinces and territories. Most jurisdictions screen only biennially, but a minority do screen annually if the woman has dense breasts. This study demonstrated reduced interval cancers in jurisdictions that do so.
