Editorial:
DBI Medical Advisory Board member Dr. Regina Hooley and her colleague Dr. Melissa Durand, comment in an editorial on the study by Chen et al in the UK, and note that mammographic technologists can perform as well as radiologists reading two-dimensional digital mammograms in the setting of a double reading screening program, and “it is reasonable to consider that appropriately trained and experienced physician extenders could have the potential to independently read screening mammograms.”
